<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stored electrical energy to a load unrelated to an electric vehicle (EV) or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle (246) includes either an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. A configuration variable switching system (244) transports first direct current (DC) energy from a first energy supplying source (268) to an energy storage system (250) of the vehicle (246) and receives first alternating current (AC) energy transported to the vehicle (246). The configuration variable switching system then transports second DC energy from the vehicle (246) to a first DC supplied load (270 and 288) and transports second AC energy from the vehicle (246) to a first AC supplied load (270 and 288).
