PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus which continuously performs active processing for adapting to an environment to be used even when the information processing apparatus is turned to a deep sleep state.

SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus connected to a network via a network interface device which can communicate with a sever on the network stores the address information of the server and periodically transmits the information of the information processing apparatus to the server. The information processing apparatus, when shifting from a normal state to a power saving state, notifies the network interface device of the stored address information and the information of the information processing apparatus to continue periodical communication.
