PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a luggage box for vehicles which molds a luggage box which has a thin wall so as to have a reduced weight and a required strength. SOLUTION: A foamed thermoplastic sheet 16 is made of a composition of a thermoplastic resin having an MFR of 8.0-0.1 g/10 min. A pair of split molds 2 and 3 for molding the luggage box has, in one mold 2, a storage chamber of the luggage box, a convex rib forming a partition wall in the storage chamber, a convex cavity 5 molding a flange protruding around an opening. The space between the foamed thermoplastic sheet 16 arranged between a pair of the split molds 2 and 3 and one convex cavity 5 is closed, and vacuum suction is carried out. By the foamed thermoplastic sheet 16 sucked to the convex cavity 5, the luggage box having the storage chamber with its upper surface opened, the flange protruding around the opening, and a concave rib forming the partition wall having a flat part equal in height to the flange in one is molded.
