PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To seal the interior of a mother substrate only with a sealant without forming sealing materials separately, when forming the mother substrate by laminating a mother TFT substrate formed with a plurality of TFT substrates and a mother counter substrate formed with a plurality of counter substrates. SOLUTION: A plurality of counter substrates of liquid crystal cells are formed in the mother counter substrate 200, and two lines of sealants 400 are formed in the circumference, while surrounding the plurality of counter substrates. In a sealing part formed at a narrow side, two lines of sealants 300 are formed and arranged in a staggered manner; after the mother counter substrate 200 is superposed with the mother TFT substrate to set internal air freed, the staggered-arranged sealants 300 are bridged by heating the sealants, thereby the interior of the mother substrate is sealed.
