PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus capable of installing a socket adapter for attaching a socket on an apparatus body without looseness. SOLUTION: A fluorescent lamp 21 is lighted by supplying power from a power supply terminal table 25 installed in an apparatus body 20 to a lighting device 24 and supplying power to a socket 22 attached to the apparatus body 20 through a socket adapter 26. At this time, a projection part 263 provided in the socket adapter 26 installed on the apparatus body 20 is inserted into an installation hole 205 provided in the apparatus body 20 and led out to the rear side 262. Then, the projection part 263 is bent down to a pawl part 264 provided in a direction crossing at right angles the projection direction of the projection part 263 and the pawl part 264 is made to contact the apparatus body 20, thereby, the socket adapter 26 is installed on the apparatus body 20 to prevent looseness, and the socket adapter 26 can be grounded surely to the apparatus body 20.
