PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closer device for a sliding door which has a reliable cushioning function. SOLUTION: The door body of a sliding door includes a housing, a movable slider, and an arrestor 21 freely turnable relative to the slider. An elastic member is interposed between the slider and the housing. With the door body opened, the arrestor 21 is turned outward and locked to a locking part provided to the housing. When the door body is moved in the closing direction of the sliding door, the arrestor 21 is turned inward and engaged with a trigger 11 provided to a guide rail, the locking of the arrestor 21 is released, and the door body is automatically closed by the pressing force of the elastic member.
