PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of reducing a light-emitting wavelength of a blue color and extending a life. SOLUTION: A luminous layer of the organic EL device is composed of a host including chrysene and a dopant including benzidine, thus increasing the energy gap of the dopant and lowering the affinity level of the dopant as compared with that of the host, and hence reducing the light-emitting wavelength of blue color and extending life in the organic EL device.
