PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector that detects a wiretap or spy camera by determining a distance and a direction up to the wiretap or the spy camera and displaying the distance and the direction. SOLUTION: The detector includes: a means for receiving all frequencies of radio waves transmitted from a wiretap or spy camera set around the detector, calculating radio wave strengths based on the received radio waves, and displaying the received frequency value, the device corresponding to the frequency, i.e., a wiretap or spy camera, a radio wave receiving direction, and a distance to the set wiretap or spy camera; and a tuning function which, for more detail inspection, enables the user to select a frequency from the displayed list of wiretaps and spy cameras, and outputs voice received by the wiretap or video images received by the spy camera for the selected frequency to the detector. The tuning function includes a control means for preventing voices or video images of a wiretap or spy camera set for others from being output, in order to prevent abuse of the detector.
