PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detachable auxiliary cap to be used for a surgical cannula port for separately holding two or more sutures. SOLUTION: A suture management cap for use with a surgical cannula comprises a frame defining a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis, having an opening for passage of a surgical instrument, and including at least one grasping member formed on at least one edge of the frame. Each grasping member is configured and dimensioned to engage and secure at least one length of suture, so that each grasping member enables the at least one length of suture to be selectively arranged in a predetermined configuration.
