A sound reproduction apparatus stores the physical address value of a device to be switched to, that is, a source device, and refers to the physical address value that is a parameter of a CEC command that another device issues. When the referred physical address value matches the stored physical address value of the source device, the sound reproduction apparatus automatically switches to the sound input for the device to be switched to. Due to this, the sound reproduction apparatus can reproduce sound based on the multichannel sound signal output from the source device. Further, when the user has set the source device to a viewing state by using the sink device, the sound reproduction apparatus automatically switches to the sound input from the source device.
