METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING USAGE OF HYBRID CLOSED SUBSCRIBER GROUP CELLS

A method, apparatus, computer program product and system are provided that facilitate the transmission of the information to user equipment and receipt of such information by user equipment that identifies a hybrid CSG cell and associates a physical cell identity therewith. Accordingly, user equipment that is a member of the CSG of the hybrid CSG cell may utilize the hybrid CSG cell in the same fashion as a conventional CSG cell in order to access an operator network or the like. However, user equipment that is not a member of the CSG of the hybrid CSG cell may also utilize the hybrid CSG cell, albeit in the same fashion as a conventional macro cell in order to access the operator network, assuming the hybrid CSG cell has capacity in addition to its support of the user equipment that are members of the CSG of the hybrid CSG cell.
