PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure synchronization of a stream of Base view video obtained by being encoded by H.264 AVC/MVC and a stream of Dependent view video which are recorded in a recording medium such as a BD.

SOLUTION: The same time information as the PCR synchronization has been ensured during the encoding is set to a packet in which the data of a certain picture of a Base view video is stored, and a packet in which the data of a picture of a Dependent view video corresponding thereto is stored. Even if the Base view video stream and the Dependent view video stream are included in different TSs, respectively, the same time information is set to a packet in which the data of the corresponding picture is stored. This technology is applicable to a reproduction device corresponding to the BD-ROM standard.
