<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce shocks applied to a steering shaft by suppressing any increase in the rotational speed of an electric motor when a large reverse input is exerted. <P>SOLUTION: A d-axis current computation part reads a determination signal of any abnormality of the reverse input steering and a determination signal of any abnormality of the high rotation (S32). When both determination signals are normal signals, the d-axis current command value Id* for performing field weakening control is calculated (S35). If any one of the determination signals is an abnormality detection signal, the d-axis current command value Id* to perform rotation suppression control is calculated (S37).
