<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner excellent in cleaning properties and outputting an image with improved transfer efficiency and good reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: The toner for developing an electrostatic charge image is made of: matrix particles constituted by at least a colorant, a release agent and a binder resin; and an external additive and satisfies the following formulae (1) and (2). As the external additive, inorganic fine particles of a BET specific surface area of 40-110 m<SP>2</SP>/g is added, and the toner adhesion force Fa satisfies the following formula (3). Formula (1): 1.2≤6Sm/(Dv×ρ)≤2.0. Formula (2): 0.95≤Ra≤0.98. Formula (3): Fa≤ 40nN.
