PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a cache server temporarily preserving data transmitted by a device and transmitting the preserved data according to a request of the device acquires a setting of communication from a configuration tool and depends on the configuration tool, thereby to be unable to operate as a standalone type; and so to provide a cache server that is able to operate as a standalone type, and a system having this cache server. SOLUTION: If a cache server 63 is connected to a network, a presence request message is transmitted, and then a device transmits a presence response message to notify its own address. The cache server transmits a session information request message to a device responding thereto, and the device transmits session information according to this message. In addition, the device transmits a regular notification message to the cache server at regular intervals to report the change of the session information.
