<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a light-emitting power level for each space mark. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting level pattern storing section 230 is provided with register sets 231_S and 231_M for respective space marks, and a stored information control unit 236 for selecting setting information on a register set 231_O and register sets 231_S and 231_M for selectively storing setting information stored therein in the register, and storing it in the register set 231_O. A reset pulse generating section 210 generates a reset pulse RP from a reset signal RS. An edge pulse generating section 220 generates an edge pulse EP from an edge signal ES. The information stored in the register set 231_S is set in the register set 231_O by a reset pulse RP_S1, and the information stored in the register set 231_M is set in the register set 231_O by a reset pulse RP_M1.
