GEL ELECTROLYTE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND ELECTROCHEMICAL ELEMENT USING THE GEL ELECTROLYTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel electrolyte which enables the fabrication of an electrochemical element having a low impedance.

SOLUTION: The gel electrolyte is characterized in that a nonaqueous electrolyte is held in a matrix of glucomannan. The gel electrolyte can be obtained by dipping a glucomannan hydrogel into the nonaqueous electrolyte and by substituting water in the hydrogel with the nonaqueous electrolyte. An aluminum electrolytic capacitor is fabricated using the gel electrolyte, and then an impedance of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor is reduced to ≤1/6 in comparison with that of a conventional capacitor using a separator and a nonaqueous electrolyte.
