ELECTRIC POWER EXTRACTION SYSTEM FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE, ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR SUPPLYING STEADY STATE LOAD AND TRANSIENT LOAD WITH ELECTRIC POWER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas turbine transient electric power extraction system having no adverse influence on engine performances and aircraft performances.

SOLUTION: An electric power extraction system 12 for a gas turbine engine 10 comprises a low spool generator 30, a high spool generator 32 and a power controller 34. The low spool generator 30 extracts electric power from a low spool 14 of the gas turbine engine 10, and the high spool generator 32 extracts electric power from a high spool 16 of the gas turbine engine 10. The power controller 34 receives electric power Z, X+Δy extracted by the low spool generator 30 and the high spool generator 32 and distributes the received electric power Z, X+Δy to provide an uninterrupted steady state power supply SS and a transient power supply T larger than what is available individually from the low and high spool generators 30, 32.
