<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a rotary type which, when a pause is made during continuous image formation, shortens the time taken to restart image formation after the pause to thereby reduce stress on a user. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus of the rotary type, it is determined beforehand whether the next image formation mode is a color mode or a mono mode, and a developing device to be first used in the next image formation mode is moved to a developing standby position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
