PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning apparatus of remaining amount of printing agent, wherein warning timing of prompting preparation of a printing agent container for exchange is freely set according to a user's request and furthermore, warning is performed with accuracy even when the warning timing is set relatively early. SOLUTION: Toner consumption coefficient which indicates the relative relationship between an integrated value of the printed number of pixels and an integrated value of the printed number of sheets during a period from a first warning for prompting the preparation of the printing agent container for exchange to a second warning for prompting the exchange of the printing agent container is calculated in a toner consumption coefficient calculation section 59, a warning reference value is calculated in a warning reference value calculation section 60 based on the warning timing regarding the obtained toner consumption coefficient and the remaining printing number of sheets desired by the user, and whether the first warning is needed is determined by a first warning determination section 53 based on the calculated reference value for warning.
