PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes dryer whose operation is automatically terminated, capable of terminating the operation with an appropriate state of drying even if the volume of the clothes is small. SOLUTION: When the number of times of detection by a dryness detecting means 12 that the resistance value of the clothes is smaller than a prescribed value within a prescribed period of time T9 after the start of operation is zero, the rotational frequency of a motor 2 is changed. Further, when the number of times of detection by the dryness detecting means 12 that the resistance value of the clothes is smaller than the prescribed value within a prescribed period of time T10 is zero, input to a heater 5 is stopped, but when the number of times of detection is not zero, the operation is continued.
