Disclosed is an electrode plate for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises a collector and an electrode active material layer that is formed on at least a part of the surface of the collector. The electrode active material layer contains electrode active material particles, a binder material and a carbon component that is different from the conductive material. The binder material is an amorphous metal oxide wherein alkali metal ion intercalation/release does not occur.
