The engine (10) has a cylinder bank with cylinders (12, 14, 24, 26) including rotation symmetrical axes (13, 15, 25, 27), which are placed at a distance from a rotational axis (28) of a crank shaft (16) along a normal vector between the rotational axis and the symmetrical axes in a direction of a counter pressure side of the cylinders. The rotation symmetrical axes of the cylinders of another cylinder bank enclose an angle with an engine longitudinal plane different from the symmetrical axes of the cylinders of the former bank.
