<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device and control method based on gesture recognition for easily and accurately detecting a detection object with robustness to disturbance light. <P>SOLUTION: The control device based on gesture recognition includes: a laser range sensor 1 which measures a distance to a detection object 4 present within a detection plane 2; a location detection means which detects a location of the detection object 4 from the measured distance; an operation detection means which detects a motion of the detection object 4 from time-series data of the detected location of the detection object 4; a motion interpretation means which extracts a gesture from the motion of the detection object 4; and a gesture recognition control means which creates a control instruction according to the extracted gesture and gives it to a target device 5 to be controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
