<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional rack system for information processing apparatus configured to perform cooling by providing a cooling device in each rack for exclusive use, in which a method for mutually cooperating the cooling devices is not adopted, the heat increased according to the processing load of information processing packages cannot be efficiently and adaptably cooled. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes a cooling device provided for each rack group with a plurality of racks being taken as a rack group, an air supply pipe supplying cold air from the cooling device to the rack group, a rack-to-rack air supply pipe connecting air supply pipes of adjacent rack groups, a solenoid valve performing opening and closing the rack-to-rack air supply pipe. When the temperature of each rack exceeds a preset raised temperature limit value, a control is performed to operate the cooling device close to this rack group alone or together with the cooling device adjacently thereto to perform cooling with the cold air therefrom, whereby the heat of information processing packages raised in temperature according to temporary rise of processing load can be adaptably cooled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
