PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device which surely performs initialization when there is a possibility of loss of data stored in a memory backed up by a battery. SOLUTION: The control device includes an SRAM 11a, a first microcomputer and a second microcomputer 12. The first microcomputer is started by feed from a battery after a power supply switch is ON, and executes SRAM monitoring processing of monitoring the SRAM to determine whether its storing state is proper and initialization processing of initializing the SRAM when the storing state of the SRAM is improper. The second microcomputer 12 regularly receives feed from the battery and executes feed control processing of outputting, upon detection of ON of the power supply switch, a feed control signal for feeding power from the battery to the first microcomputer and initialization processing of outputting an initialization control signal to cause the first microcomputer to execute the initialization processing of initializing the SRAM only when it is started.
