PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight and highly-rigid liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display 100 includes: a box-shaped casing 110 which is made of a synthetic resin and includes an opening on the front surface side; a light source 120 housed in the casing 110; a diffusion plate 130 which is made of the synthetic resin, fixed to at least two sides of the outer edge of the opening and increases rigidity of the casing 110; and a liquid crystal panel 140 disposed on the front surface side of the diffusion plate 130.
