The invention relates to a cooling module for a battery module that consists of a plurality of cells. The cooling module is characterized in that it has cooling plates on first and second opposite sides and heat-conducting connecting plates extending between the sides, said connecting plates defining between them compartments for accommodating the cells, and the cooling module preferably having a cuboid shape. The invention also relates to the interconnection of a plurality of cooling modules to a cooling module system and to the use thereof in a battery-powered vehicle.
