<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which has low haze and which causes no breaking failure during production; and to provide a method for producing the optical film, a polarizing plate using the same, and a liquid crystal display using the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film includes: a cellulose ester (CE) with degree of substitution of 2.0-3.0; a cellulose ester (GCE) which has a repeating unit expressed by formula (G-1) or (G-2) and is different from the cellulose ester (CE); and an acrylic resin. In formulas (G-1) and (G-2), A and B each represent divalent 1-12C hydrocarbon groups, or divalent 1-12C hydrocarbon groups substituted with a hydroxyl group, however, A and B may be identical or different to/from each other.
