<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately prevent light emerging from a light guide plate from leaking from a frame. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting apparatus has a light source, the light guide plate having an outgoing surface allowing light entered from the light source to be emitted from the outgoing surface, a reflective sheet disposed on the opposite side to the outgoing surface of the light guide plate and having a projecting portion projecting from outer fringes of the light guide plate, a container member for accommodating the light guide plate and disposed to planarly overlap the projecting portion of the reflective sheet, and an adhesive layer for bonding together the reflective sheet and the container member.
