PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting resin composition for a color filter that forms a colored layer with high flatness even by an ink jet system and improves optical performance.

SOLUTION: The thermosetting resin composition for a color filter has (A) a pigment dispersant, (B) a pigment, (C) a thermosetting binder, and (D) a solvent. The pigment dispersant (A) is a graft copolymer of a nitrogen-containing monomer represented by general formula (I) and a polymerizable oligomer comprising a polymer chain including a constituent unit represented by general formula (II) and a group having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond at an end thereof.
