PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical demolition method for a tower-like building which dispenses with the work for constructing a new foundation for demolition work, when demolishing the tower-like building from its lower part and the work for removing the foundation for the demolition work after demolishing the tower-like building. SOLUTION: In this demolition method for the tower-like building, this tower-like building 1 is separated into an upper part skeleton 2 of the building and a lower part skeleton 3 of the building, the upper part skeleton 2 of the building is pulled down with a jack by making use of the lower part skeleton 3 of the building as a support pedestal, the upper part skeleton 2 of the building is sequentially demolished from a lower layer using an upper face of the lower part skeleton 2 of the building as a work floor 16, and then the lower part skeleton 3 of the building is demolished by the work on the ground.
