PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealing properties of an electrode terminal lead portion in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery sheathed by a sheath material such as a laminated film. SOLUTION: The first and second step difference parts are provided at a portion from which an electrode terminal of the nonaqueous electrolyte battery is led out, thereby sealing the sheath material. The first and second step difference parts are formed by being divided into two steps and sealed using two heater blocks equipped with notched parts having different widths. A convex part formed by the notched part of a first heater block is pressed by the notched part of the second heater block, thereby forming the second step difference part. Then, the convex part formed by the notched part of the first heater block is pressed by a portion except the notched part of the second heater block, thereby forming the first step difference part. The sealing properties can be improved by filling molten resin into voids remaining in the vicinity of the electrode terminal when sealed by the first heater block by forming the second step difference part.
