PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reading device capable of efficiently dealing with an error generated in read data when data are repeatedly read from a recording medium. SOLUTION: The drive unit 300 includes a data reading part 23 and a disk drive part 330 for reading contents stored in an optical disk and output the contents, an error count acquisition part 24 for acquiring an error count included in the read contents, a parameter change instruction part 25 for changing a parameter set in the disk drive part 330 when there is a content where the acquired error count exceeds a predetermined value, and a storage device 340 for storing a partial content where an error count read out after change of parameters is equal to or less than the predetermined value as complementary data.
