PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device which has high dust collecting performance while reducing a head positioning error occurring due to a rotating flow of a disk. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device 20 has a magnetic disk 1, a spindle motor 13, a magnetic head 12, an arm 11 that supports the magnetic head, a chassis shroud face 5a that surrounds an outer circumference of the magnetic disk, a filter 10 that is provided at an outer side from the chassis shroud face 5a in a radial direction of the magnetic disk 1 and that collects dust, and a filter flow path 5e that allows gas to flow into the filter 10 and that is provided at the chassis shroud face 5a, a plate type structure 7 that is inserted to an inner circumference side from the outer circumferential end of the magnetic disk 1, a chassis base 5 and a chassis cover that hold these components. The plate type structure 7 has a void portion 7a at an inflow port portion of the gas of the filter flow path, and has a structure where a front edge 7b positioned at an upstream of the rotating flow of the void portion is positioned at the upstream side of the rotating flow from the front edge 5f of an opening of the filter flow path entry 5b.
