PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving hair touch on the coating of a hair conditioner, a hair rinse, or the like, when hair is washed. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic includes the following components (1) to (5): (1) a quaternary amine compound represented by formula (I) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a 6 to 35C straight chain or branched chain alkyl; R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each identical or different H, a 1 to 3C straight chain or branched chain alkyl; X is halogen ion or organic anion) in an amount of 0.01 to 10 mass% based on the cosmetic; (2) a higher alcohol and/or a higher fatty acid in an amount of 0.1 to 20 mass% based on the cosmetic; (3) a salicylic acid compound salt; (4) an organic acid; and (5) water.
