<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-accuracy motion compensation, when performing inter-frame predictive coding. <P>SOLUTION: A storage unit 20 holds a frame image therein. A transmission line 70 transmits a frame image between the storage unit 20 and various access subjects. A motion search section 151 sets a plurality of search regions in a reference frame image for motion compensation by searching for a block region, in the reference frame image, with the smallest error from a block region to be coded in a target frame image and calculates an error between the block region to be coded and each of the search regions. A search region determining unit 40 determines the number of search regions to be set by the motion search section 151, according to the congestion degree of the transmission line 70 transmitting a frame image from the storage unit 20 to the motion search section 151. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
