<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a hearth filling material to be used for a metal lump heat treatment furnace which can prevent the development of an opening mainly at a joint part or cracked portion of a hearth refractory, prevent hearth refractories from pushing each other due to thermal expansion, and can not only suppress but also prevent the degradation in fire resistance and heat insulation property of the hearth refractory which deteriorate through usage over time. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the hearth filling material constituting the side of an in-furnace operating surface 11 of the hearth of the metal lump heat treatment furnace 10 compresses and crushes used refractories into granular refractories whose maximum grain diameter is adjusted to fall within a range of 20-100 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
