PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-lamp type illuminator capable of achieving downsizing of an integrator lens, and a projection type video display device. SOLUTION: In the projection type video display device 100, reflection parts 6 provided to light emitting sides of a first light source 2A and a second light source 2B have a plurality of first mirrors 41A having inclination of 45 degrees with respect to an optical axis P and reflecting a plurality of first luminous fluxes L<SB>A</SB>at a right angle respectively, and a plurality of second mirrors 41B having inclination of 45 degrees with respect to the optical axis P and reflecting a plurality of second luminous fluxes L<SB>B</SB>at a right angle respectively.
