PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a mechanism for tilting of an optical system and for advancing and retreating of a reflecting member, with respect to the optical axis. SOLUTION: The optical apparatus includes a first lens unit 1 turnable around a first shaft; a second lens unit 3; and the reflecting member 6 which is turnable around a second shaft between a first position, in the optical path between the first and second lens units and a second position outside the optical path, and is also turnable about the first axis in the first position, in order to reflect incident light from the turning first lens unit so as to guide this light to the second lens unit. Linking mechanisms 8, 9, and 10 makes the reflecting member turn about the first axis at the first position according to the turning of the first lens unit in the first turning region, and also makes the reflecting member between the first and second positions turn according to the turning of the first lens unit in the second turning region.
