PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact and inexpensive magnetic shielding construction in a rice cooker whose inner pot is induction-heated by heating coils without inhibiting its cooling performance and to achieve a space-saving and compact product. SOLUTION: The inner pot 10 is detachably contained in a rice cooker body 11 whose top is open. Heating coils 13 and 14 which are formed along the bottom face and the lower part of the side face of the inner pot 10 are arranged in the bottom of a protective frame 12 into which the inner pot 10 in the rice cooker body 11 is fitted. The inner pot 10 is induction-heated by supplying the heating coils 13 and 14 with high-frequency power from an inverter 32. Induction heating during rice cooking, heat retention or the like is controlled by a control means. Leakage magnetic field from the heating coils 13 and 14 is prevented from leaking outside by a non-magnetic metal plate 16. The non-magnetic metal plate 16 is arranged in the bottom of the rice cooker body 11 so that it may face the heating coils 13 and 14. Air holes 21 through which air cooled by a cooling fan 20 for cooling the inverter 32 passes are formed as far as the electromagnetical field can sufficiently be shielded.
