The deflector (1) has a wind deflector holder (3) displaceable between a folded position and an effective position. A flexible planar-formation unit (14) is fastened at two ends (16, 17) of the wind deflector holder. A roll shaft (19) is supported in a roll axis (20), and the planar-formation unit is wound-up in the roll shaft in the folded position. The flexible planar-formation unit is unwound in the effective position of the wind deflector holder, and the roll axis is adjustably supported towards a vehicle longitudinal axis (FL) against force of a spring mechanism (24).
