<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which exhibits high photoelectric conversion efficiency when used as a photoelectric conversion element. <P>SOLUTION: The compound includes a structure which is represented by formula (1) and has a light absorption wavelength edge of 600 nm or more. In addition, the compound preferably includes a structure different from that shown by formula (1), and more preferably, the structure being different from that represented by formula (1) is a bivalent aromatic group, which is formed by eliminating two hydrogen atoms from an aromatic fused ring being formed by the condensation of two or more aromatic rings selected from the group consisting of aromatic seven-membered rings, aromatic six-membered rings and aromatic five-membered rings, and it is more preferable that, in the bivalent aromatic group, the number of the atoms forming the aromatic fused ring being present in the shortest pathway between two atoms having a bond-forming hand is 3 or 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
