<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently decomposing/detoxifying nitrogen oxides which are produced under a practical condition, particularly, in such a reaction system that a strongly basic compound or a strongly acidic compound is used industrially, by using a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The method for decomposing nitrogen oxides comprises a step of decomposing the nitrogen oxides in the presence of the catalyst for decomposing nitrogen oxides while controlling both of the concentration of the strongly basic compound and that of the strongly acidic compound to be ≤200 volppm of the whole volume of the gas to be decomposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
