<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost image forming apparatus exhibiting good operability in jam processing and replacement of a fixing unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus typically comprises: an image forming apparatus body having doors 27F and 27R while allowing them to open/close; and a fixing unit, which can be attached/detached to/from the image forming apparatus body and has a contacting/separating mechanism (a pressing plate metal 18, pressing sprint 19, a cam 20, and a lever 23) to bring a fixing film 16 and a pressing roller 13 into contact with each other or to separate them from each other. The image forming apparatus body has a link mechanism 29 interlocking opening/closing action of the doors 27F and 27R with action of the contacting/separating mechanism. The fixing unit has a connecting/disconnecting means (a connecting means 25 and the lever 23) connecting/disconnecting the contacting/separating mechanism and the link mechanism 29 to/from each other in attachment/detachment of the fixing unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
