<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of decoding moving pictures that can perform reproduction from halfway pictures subjected to intra-screen encoding of image-encoded signals, and can perform reproduction without any error after the pictures subjected to intra-screen encoding even if an error occurs in a stream, and to provide moving picture decoding equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The method of encoding moving pictures selects a reference picture from an intra-screen decoding picture, a picture positioned prior to the intra-screen decoding picture in the order of display, and a picture positioned after the intra-screen decoding picture. The encoding/decoding equipment determines whether or not the intra-screen decoding picture is designated as the reference picture, selects the reference picture from at least one of the intra-screen decoding picture designated as the reference picture and the picture decoded after the reference picture to the picture decoded by an intra-screen decoding method after the reference picture, and prohibits the selection of the picture decoded before the reference picture as the reference picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
