PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method whereby a primer for the SELEX method can be efficiently designed.

SOLUTION: The method for designing a primer is featured by performing following steps using a computer: a step of generating primer candidate sequences (S1); a step of selecting a primer candidate sequence by evaluating the primer candidate sequences on the basis of predetermined standards (S2); a step of generating random pools including a plurality of nucleic acid sequences including random sequences and primer candidate sequences on the basis of the selected primer candidate sequence (S3); a step of selecting a random pool by predicting the structure of each of nucleic acid sequences of the random pools and by evaluating the predicted structure on the basis of predetermined standards (S4); and a step of determining to adopt a primer candidate sequence used in the selected random pool as a primer sequence (S5).
