PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a retardation compensation film having sufficient retardation and biaxial property as an optical compensation member and having high durability under heating conditions.

SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the retardation compensation film includes: a heat-drawing step of drawing a film obtained by using an amorphous resin and a thermoplastic elastomer resin that substantially has a phase separation form with respect to the amorphous resin, in at least one direction of the longitudinal direction and the width direction while heating; and a heat treatment step of heat-treating the drawn film.
