<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a retardation compensation film having sufficient retardation and biaxial property as an optical compensation member and having high durability under heating conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the retardation compensation film includes: a heat-drawing step of drawing a film obtained by using an amorphous resin and a thermoplastic elastomer resin that substantially has a phase separation form with respect to the amorphous resin, in at least one direction of the longitudinal direction and the width direction while heating; and a heat treatment step of heat-treating the drawn film. In the heat-drawing step, the heat-drawing process is carried out at least twice, and the following expression (1) is satisfied: Tg<Tsn<Ts1<Tg+20, wherein Ts1 (°C) represents the heating temperature in the first heat-drawing process, Tsn (°C) represents the heating temperature in the n-th (the second or subsequent) heat-drawing process, and Tg (°C) represents the glass transition temperature of the amorphous resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
