PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation sensor noise detection device capable of detecting that periodic noise is superimposed on an output of a rotation sensor without using a rotating speed of the other mechanism such as a motor including the case that a rotary body such as a crankshaft and a ring gear shaft stops rotation. SOLUTION: When a chipped tooth is not confirmed before determining that a determining period (30°CA counter=43) to generate the chipped tooth of the rotation sensor has passed (YES in S112), it can be determined that a signal by noise is output from a pickup type detection part (S116). In the case that the noise hardly becomes 30°CA counter≥43, when a cumulative frequency of becoming 30°CA counter≥24 becomes a reference frequency (three times) or larger (NO in S114), it is determined that the noise is detected (S116). Thus, the noise can be detected even if a state similar to a signal of indicting a reference phase position is generated in the noise. Thus, the problem can be solved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
