PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor in which a top bracket and a bottom bracket are fixed to the opposite ends of the casing by inserting the fastening members into the through-holes of the stator, and the noise incident to the sound, vibration, or the like, caused by the stator of the electric motor is reduced. SOLUTION: In the electric motor including the stator which is produced by laminating and integrally bonding a plurality of thin electromagnetic steel plates, and a rotor which is driven to rotate on the inner diameter side of the stator, the stator is provided with through-holes which are used for fixing the stator to the top bracket and bottom bracket by means of the fastening members of magnetic material, and the surface of the fastening members facing the through-holes of the stator is covered, at least partially, with a nonmagnetic material.
